New downloadable content for this year’s flashiest character action game Stellar Blade has just arrived. It’s a crossover with the ever crazier and seemingly undying NieR: Automata, priced at 9,99 USD, the first ever paid DLC for SHIFT UP Corporation’s hit game.
You’re probably asking how well the two universes meld together, and I admit to have been skeptical about this crossover, but the end result is pretty cool. It’s not nearly as cool as what Square Enix previously did for Final Fantasy XIV Online, introducing totally new raids where NieR: Automata basically invaded the world of Eorzea.
Still, with this download, you get two 2B outfits for EVE right away, that can be equipped simply by going to the equipment screen. They’re sort of a mix between Stellar Blade and NieR: Automata’s art design, meaning they are skimpy and flashy, and do a decent enough job at reminding you of what the white-haired protagonist wore in Yoko Taro’s magnum opus.
The rest of the DLC requires some work on your part. With it installed, a new salesperson, the moon head Emil from the NieR games, now roams around in both the Wasteland and Great Desert open-world areas. But it’s just not a matter of finding him: since he only accepts a certain type of currency, you’re gonna need to scour those maps in search of stellar tears, which are cleverly hidden and must be acquired before you can get your mitts on the prizes.
They are, as well as their cost:
- YoRHa No.2 Type B Uniform (2 Stellar Tears)
- YoRHa Uniform 1 (2 Stellar Tears)
- YorHa Unofficial Ceremonial Attire (2 Stellar Tears)
- YorHa Type A No.2 Uniform (2 Stellar Tears)
- Pod 042 Pack (1 Stellar Tear)
- Battle Goggles (1 Stellar Tear)
- Emil’s Head, aka the best one of the bunch (1 Stellar Tear)
- YorHa No. 9 Type S Uniform (1 Stellar Tear)
- YorHa No. 2 Type B Style (1 Stellar Tear)
- White Fox Nask (1 Stellar Tear)
- YorHa Type A No. 2 Syle (1 Stellar Tear)
After buying them, the outfits can be used the same way as the initial two and they’re not just for EVE, in the form of hair styles, an accessory and clothes, but for other characters in the game as well, like Drone, the little robot that follows her around, and Adam and Lily.
Considering this is merely cosmetic DLC, having to do some exploring is a welcome way of having you come back to Stellar Blade, regardless if you already finished it or for whatever reason have put it on the backburner. And luckily for you, in case you don’t wanna look for the tears yourself, here’s a list of the locations of all 12 of them!
Stellar Tear #AT8154E:
For the first one, you’re gonna have to head to the southeastern part of the Wasteland. Just use the teleport and warp to the Wasteland Junkyard supply camp. There, just run southeast to a fishing area and a small crane, just to the latter, you’ll find the sneaky sucker.
Stellar Tear #AC6258B:
In order to find this one, take the warp to the Western Great Canyon supply camp and go northwest, where you’ll locate a shipwreck. The tear will be right in front of it.
Stellar Tear #AB61498M:
You’ll need to use the teleport and go to the Solar Tower Entrance camp for the third Terar. Go north past the Naytiba and look for conspicuously placed trees. There you’ll find a cave, and inside it, the Tear will be on a ledge past a lagoon. Just cross it by swimming and climb up to claim it.
Stellar Tear #AJ4875L:
The Bus Stop Legion Camp is your next point of interest. There, look for a broken sign. Right next to it you’ll find the fourth Stellar Tear!
Stellar Tear #A03521P:
For the fifth, get to the Wasteland, namely the Scrap Yard in its northern point, which you can reach by using the Scrapyard Entrance warp. Go into the yard to where D1G-g2r tends to be. Then just climb onto some blue cargo crates next to it. BINGO.
Stellar Tear #AW42150:
This one is easy. It’s west of the Solar Tower, off a cliff. Oh, don’t jump off it, just reach the edge and you’ll find it.
Stellar Tear #AT4756L:
In western section of the Wasteland, go north and you’ll find a cliff you can climb. It’s just a matter of getting to the top and skipping across by using some platforms to the next part. Ignore the Naytiba and use the conveniently painted ledges to reach the top. There, you’ll also find more Naytiba, which you can either kill or run past until you get to the bridge. Once you are past it, follow the path to the Tear!
Stellar Tear #AC86538:
The last Tear out in the Wasteland is borth of the Central Scrap Plains rest camp. Find the billboard. Next to it, you’ll see a blue cargo container and the Stellar Tear.
Stellar Tear #AN1632R:
Now’s the time for a change of scenery. Go to the Great Desert, namely the NW part of it, where you’ll find a broken statue. Deal with all the Naytiba that are there and go beneath it for Tear number 9.
Stellar Tear #AF8742F:
Head south in the Great Desert. The closest camp is the Exile’s Passage, and east of it you’ll find four monsters which are protecting the Tear. You know what to do.
Stellar Tear #AB34590:
SE of the Oasis supply camp you’ll find a palm tree. It’s only a matter of swimming to it and nabbing it.
Stellar Tear #AJ9235H:
Warp to the Northern Great Desert legion camp and jump to the top of a collapsed building. Start at the orange crate and start climbing and swinging your way to the very last reachable floor, where the Tear is.
Stellar Tear #AD2489J:
West of the Oasis is where you’ll find the fifth Stellar Tear, on top of a structure with some blue crates. You can get there by finding a yellow bus, marked by a pink arrow light. Reach a ladder and hop between buildings up to the rooftop with the aforementioned crates and the Tear.
Stellar Tear #AN5409P:
You’re gonna need to go to the Operahouse for this one, which is to the north of the Buried Ruins. The way to enter it requires you to run around the building and find an opening. Next, jump over some drones and down the very bottom. You’ll see the Stelar Tear between some seats.
Stellar Tear #AM6131L:
And finally, for the very last collectible, go to the South of the Solar Tower. You’ll find the 15th and final Stellar Tear on top of a few blue boxes. Claim it and you’re done!
Now go to Emil and buy all those purdy outfits. Be sure to go to the equipment screen and check them out. You’ll find that EVE is a pretty darn good 2B cosplayer. Congrats on finding everything this DLC has to offer!
A special thank you goes out to the wonderful folks at Dexerto for the leg up for the locations of the Stellar Tears and Fandom Wire for the great selfie. You guys rock!
