The Wolf Among Us Episode 2: Smoke & Mirrors Review
Things aren’t going well in Fabletown. The hiding place of storybook characters in New York was struck with the tragic death of some of its more notable residents in The Wolf Among Us‘ premiere episode, titled ‘Faith’. The local sheriff, Bigsby Wolf was tasked with handling the case, but things got complicated as they do…
Octodad: Deadliest Catch Review
There are many difficult things in a man’s life. Being a dad is one. Being married is another. But what about being an octopus in disguise? Octodad: Dadliest Catch is the perfect answer to that question. Octodad is a game that’s incredibly silly. Well, silly doesn’t fully describe it. Sometimes, it’s a little stupid, but…
Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD Review
Bringing in female protagonist to the series was one of the firsts that Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation managed to achieve back in 2012. It was also Assassin’s Creed first real substantial entry out on a portable system, the Playstation Vita. A year and change later, Liberation is getting a Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC HD remake and a rename…
Animal Crossing: New Leaf Review
How would you like to be mayor of your own little town? Minus the political intrigue, sex scandals and everyday corruption that make the job more of a danger than anything else, of course. In its newest version, exclusively crafted for the 3DS, the venerable Animal Crossing series returns, better and more addictive than ever…
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Review
After a disappointing outing with Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is just what the tired series needed. Regardless of some gameplay issues that have been plaguing the series since its very beginning, Assassin’s Creed IV is an extremely fun refinement to the franchise. Black Flag opens with Edward Kenway, a pirate in search of…
Nidhogg Review
Nidhogg is best described as a game where you fight for the right to be eaten by a giant, hideous worm-like monster. Why anyone would risk their lives for such a fate befuddles me. But the process of getting there is so damn tense and exciting that the conclusion hardly matters. It’s the thrill of…
The Novelist Review
Games often deal in choice and consequence, though rarely do so grounded in reality or make the options so seemingly small and simple. Usually it’s in some sort of fantastical setting with the choices being some extreme form of “good” and “bad,” nary a grey area in sight. Hardly riveting, let alone something to get…
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Review
From the lay of the over-world to the very intro sequence and menu music, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is as much an homage as it is a sequel to A Link to the Past. The entire framework remains unchanged from the 1992 classic, at times stopping just short of outright remaking…
The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 1 – All That Remains Review
After the stunning finale of season one, Telltale had quite the task ahead of themselves. The Walking Dead has thus far proven to be one of their strongest, most successful efforts. Screwing up now would spell disaster, especially with expectations running so high. With the debut episode of season two, All That Remains, they don’t…
