Castle of Illusion is easily one of SEGA Genesis’ most iconic games. And now that remakes are all around, it’s Mickey’s turn to get a facelift.
SEGA is handling the remake and it’s soon to be released on Playstation 3 on September 3th and on Xbox 360 and PC on September 4th, for $15 or its respective equivalents on all those platforms under the title Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.
There’s also a pre-order promotion going on stating tomorrow and running until September 2nd on PSN: by pre-ordering the game, you’ll not only get access to the original version of the Genesis game, but also a dynamic dashboard theme and three avatars.
For those not old enough to remember the original Castle of Illusion, and heck, this makes me feel old, here’s a quick starter – the evil witch Mizrabel kidnaps Minnie and it’s up to ol’ Mickey to save her by embarking on a journey inside the Castle of Illusion. Spooky!
And in high resolution, so promises SEGA.
Keep an eye out for our review near release.
